Position Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a large, multi-state workforce. This role will be responsible for processing payroll, auditing payroll data, supporting tax and garnishment activities, and serving as a resource for employees and internal stakeholders on payroll-related matters. There is potential for this position to convert to a full-time role or be extended based on business needs.

Position Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a large, multi-state workforce. This role will be responsible for processing payroll, auditing payroll data, supporting tax and garnishment activities, and serving as a resource for employees and internal stakeholders on payroll-related matters. There is potential for this position to convert to a full-time role or be extended based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly and monthly payrolls for approximately 1,200 to 2,000 employees across multiple states.
- Review and reconcile payroll earnings, deductions, taxes, and other payroll-related transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Generate payroll audit reports and provide reconciliations for management review and approval.
- Partner with management to ensure employee timecards and worked hours are approved in accordance with payroll deadlines.
- Enter and maintain payroll data, including adjustments, corrections, and reclassifications.
- Process off-cycle, manual, and on-demand payments as needed.
- Execute and validate EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) data loads.
- Run, monitor, and audit payroll integrations to ensure accurate data transfer.
- Maintain payroll tax and payment elections, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Process W-2 corrections and payroll tax adjustments as required.
- Set up and maintain garnishments, tax levies, and other withholding orders.
- Coordinate payroll check and pay statement distribution when necessary.
- Manage payroll case management activities and payroll help desk inquiries.
- Respond to payroll-related questions from employees, Human Resources, Benefits, and management.
- Participate in special projects and additional payroll initiatives as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of corporate payroll processing experience.
- Working knowledge of payroll practices, including overtime calculations, tax withholding, and payroll compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and employee support.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Capable of meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced payroll environment.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed during payroll cycles and peak periods.
- Must be available to work in-office during training and thereafter as business needs require.
