The Operations/Laboratory Technician is responsible for monitoring plant operations and performing a variety of chemical analyses. The Operations/Laboratory Technician will collect and prepare samples, conduct chemical analyses, monitor and control plant equipment, perform light maintenance activities, and work with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the operating facility.
Minimum Job Expectations:
Participate in daily operations meetings to communicate information related to safety, environmental compliance, quality, and KPIs.
Maintain operations and laboratory skills, training, and qualification standards related to assigned responsibilities.
Perform all activities in accordance with Laboratory Procedures, Quality manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Perform the necessary duties to maintain housekeeping in the facility.
Initiate corrective action for process, safety, or environmental deficiencies.
Understand the use and location of emergency equipment in the plant Support and perform laboratory and operations functions. Such as obtaining, handling and analyzing samples; making adjustments to operating equipment; performing routine lab and plant recordkeeping.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and equipment data.
Ability to work 40 hours/week, nights, weekends, and callouts. May be required to work rotating shifts.
Willing to cross-train and work in all areas of facility.
Complete any additional responsibilities assigned by Plant Management.
Preferred Work Experience and Education:
Minimum two years working as a laboratory technician. One year if the lab experience is in a plant environment or two years working as a plant operator.
Chemical Lab Technician Certification, Plant Operator Technology Certificate, or related skills and experiences gained in the military strongly preferred.
