Lab Analyst II
Location: Ector County, Texas
Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off
This position is responsible for developing, planning, and conducting laboratory procedures for environmental, product, and process analysis in compliance with federal and company guidelines.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers, and surrounding communities as a top priority.
  • Support process safety systems through participation in inspections, job observations, near-miss reporting, incident investigations, audits, and other safety programs.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings to communicate information related to safety, environmental compliance, quality, and key performance metrics.
  • Maintain laboratory skills, training, and qualification standards required to support laboratory operations.
  • Develop laboratory procedures as needed.
  • Perform analyses in accordance with laboratory procedures and quality manuals.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel to troubleshoot procedural and equipment issues.
  • Conduct quality control and environmental laboratory sampling and verify the accuracy of field sampling results.
  • Support quality systems through statistical verification of instrument operability and accuracy.
  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping and organization.
  • Initiate corrective actions for process, safety, or environmental deficiencies.
  • Understand the use and location of emergency equipment in laboratory and sampling areas.
  • Follow emergency response procedures and laboratory protocols.
  • Conduct all operations in accordance with the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and understand when and where it is required.
  • Ensure all samples and chemicals are properly labeled.
  • Support laboratory services, including:
    • Storage of product samples
    • Packaging and shipping samples
    • Stockroom support for laboratory and plant operations
    • Sampling services
    • Maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Deliver a high level of internal and external customer service and assist with issue resolution as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to producing reliable, high-quality results.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned and workload permits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by plant management.
