Role Overview The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II is responsible for evaluating, guiding, and supporting discipline engineering work performed internally and by contractors/sub‑contractors. This position ensures all engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. The role facilitates effective execution of I&C engineering routines and supports strong communication across the Project Team and cross‑functional groups. In addition to technical expertise, the position requires strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.
Note: This role includes responsibilities across both Instrumentation & Controls and Electrical maintenance planning.

Key Responsibilities In addition to all Level 1 responsibilities, Level 2 duties include:
Instrumentation & Controls Engineering
- Analyze maintenance records to assess instrument failure rates, availability/reliability metrics, failure mode trends, and program effectiveness/cost impacts.
- Develop and execute process control surveillance programs.
- Collect and trend process data utilizing corporate process historian databases and visualization tools.
- Conduct process control philosophy reviews, stability assessments, control logic updates, and loop tuning.
- Perform criticality assessments and develop equipment strategies/maintenance plans for I&C systems, incorporating:
- Safety Integrity Level (SIL) requirements
- Industry standards
- Regulatory guidelines
- Manufacturer recommendations
- Ensure engineering work aligns with specifications, standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate engineering workflows that align with project goals, objectives, and procedures.
- Maintain timely communication with the Project Team and key company stakeholders regarding engineering progress, issues, and deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of discipline-related design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
- Experience with selection, application, and ISA data sheet development for pressure/temperature/level instruments, control valves, shutdown valves, and fire/gas detection systems.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis using tools such as SAP, Analytics for Excel, and Tableau.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, high workloads, and shifting priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in English, with strong technical and business communication skills.
- Seeking an I,C&E engineer capable of supporting both Instrumentation & Controls and Electrical scopes—particularly in maintenance planning, work aids, and equipment strategy development.
- Project Management experience is a strong plus.
