Commercial Strategy Specialist III – Facilities & Construction (Contract) This role supports a wide range of service and construction contracts, including pad construction (D&C/F&C), hydrovac, NDE, survey, painting/coating, inspection services, and related categories. The ideal candidate has experience with contracts, sourcing strategies, and negotiations, and can manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders at the same time.

This position sits within a Facilities & Construction supply chain team and is based in Houston, TX (Greenway Plaza area).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute commercial and sourcing strategies for capital projects, ensuring projects stay on budget and on schedule
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of commercial strategies using spend analysis, market research, and supplier engagement
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams
  • Monitor market conditions, source suppliers, issue RFPs, evaluate bids, negotiate pricing, and award contracts
  • Prepare and negotiate contract terms with Legal support (MSAs, commercial agreements, purchase orders, etc.)
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities without impacting quality or safety
  • Manage contract changes, renewals, and amendments
  • Execute sourcing and bidding activities using SAP and Ariba systems
  • Develop bid strategies, evaluation criteria, and supporting documentation with internal stakeholders
  • Address contract-related issues including change orders, disputes, and invoice reconciliation
  • Ensure supplier compliance with contract terms and conditions
  • Coordinate with Audit, Accounts Payable, HSE, Risk Management, and Supplier Registration teams
  • Monitor supplier capacity, performance, cost competitiveness, and participate in supplier performance reviews
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred)
  • Strong experience with contract drafting, negotiation, and spend analysis
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to present to internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic analytical tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple teams
  • Basic project management experience
  • Comfortable working in a changing and fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience managing labor or service contracts
  • Experience with SAP, Ariba, Spotfire, and/or Power BI
  • Background in land-based construction services (pad construction, hydrovac, NDE, survey, or similar)
