MAIN FUNCTIONS
Work with company and contractor’s site management and Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) organizations to implement the project and site safety programs and advice on best practice. SSHE Technicians provide support in one or more safety, security, health, or environmental subject areas to a particular site or functional group within an affiliate. A SSHE Technician supports data entry, management, and reporting skills while interacting with the field/operations organization and SSHE Advisors. SSHE Technicians will cover some but not all of the responsibilities listed below.

The SSHE Tech will work with all levels of Field Operations Personnel (from executive to line personnel) relaying alarm details, conducting welfare checks, and obtaining criminal activity details via telephone and email. Work with Field Operations personnel on evaluating alarms and helping to mitigate those alarms remotely/ Discuss with Regional Security Supervisor (criminal investigations) details gathered from a criminal activity call. Cooperate with Emergency Services by reporting crimes and helping manage catastrophic events. Cooperate with State and Federal DOT personnel who are testing the emergency system and acting due to real events. Handles sensitive information on personnel and investigations, sensitive information about emergency response that should be referred to PG&A.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in development and review of SSH procedures
• Member of project SSH&E Steering Teams
• Assist in Safety Awards and distribution Program
• Assist in the coordination and the development of Contractors safety plans and procedures to ensure consistency with Project objectives.
• Management and Protection of Information (MPI) security contact
• Assist in the planning and execution of Contractor SSH&E Forums
• Assist coordination of Quarterly Project Safety Meeting & Annual Contractor Safety Forum
• Field contractor site visits / inspections as required
• Coordination of Project Office Ergonomic Evaluation Process

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in Construction Safety-related positions (previous experience within the group preferred)
• High School Graduate
• Post-Secondary Diploma in Safety Technology
• Health, Safety and Security experience
• Ability to multitask
• Effective team player skills
• Local and international travel may be required
• Strong computer skills in the following programs are essential attributes for this role: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
