Position description:
As part of the Digital Core deployment team the communications specialist will support the rollout of S4HANA deployment in the Canadian Business unit. This position will prepare the organization for the digital transformation from legacy systems to the newly integrated foundational platform that touches 5 global locations and over 600 employees and contractors.This will include but not be limited to managing project schedule and identifying scheduling risks for the successful rollout and sustainment of S4HANA. This individual will work closely with deployment lead and various local and corporate departments and stakeholders across the business unit.  

Responsibilities  
• Active practitioner of Microsoft project planner, with intermediate level skills and knowledge for managing project schedules.
• Lead project planning and scheduling, and act as Planning focal point for specific scopes
• Develop the project baseline plan and schedule in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and maintain the baseline plan and schedule
• Monitor and control planning and scheduling activities through all phases of project lifecycle including overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance.
• Forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules.
• Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices
• Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
• Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situation
• Monitor and control planning and scheduling activities through all phases of project lifecycle
• Ability to give clear direction and support to Project Execution personnel.
• Leads project teams. Demonstrated strong leadership skills/facilitation.
• Liaise with functional groups and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status,and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.
• Prepare and provide copies of project plans, progress, and performance status reports bi-weekly and monthly to deployment lead• Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications• Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required
• Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
• Participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews
• Play an active role in the mentoring and career development of planning/scheduling personnel  

Required Qualifications:
• Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft project
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to prioritize workloads and utilize planning and time management skills to adhere to strict deadlines
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience in IT ERP roll outs
• Appropriate computer skills, which includes: Microsoft Office Suite – Excel,Word, Power Point and OutlookSchedule: Some weeks will be hybrid (Onsite: Tuesday - Thursday & Remote: Monday and Friday). However, this is subject to change, as there will be weeks where projects will require contractors to be onsite.
