Payroll Specialist IV

 Description:  
•   Extension of the management team to support the Payroll team.

• Ensure that all payments/interfaces/journal entries are executed appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Operates as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues.
• Conducts work planning, estimation and prioritization to optimize performance of team and works with Payroll Director to ensure all deliverables are met.
• This individual manages effective internal/external client relationships within own area of responsibility, and builds client relationships in the wider group or unit.
• Cover for team members in back-up role for vacation and/or high-volume work efforts.
• Review/approve account recons
• Review/approve equity payments
• Review/approve benefit payments
• Review/approve tax/garnishment payments
• Support System Admin to update/create configuration in PeopleSoft
• Post general ledger journals throughout the month
• Support team with journal entries to re-class payroll charges.
• Support special projects, as needed
• Support other payroll subgroups, as needed
