The Accountant/Bookkeeper-Oil and Gas will work directly with an oil and gas affiliate and is responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping for the team, as well as ensuring the accuracy of payments for oil and gas royalties. This role will also assist with proper establishment and maintenance of division order records, update ownership records on existing wells and communicate efficiently with royalty owners.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Research files to determine curative necessary to resolve title disputes and suspense items.
  • Obtain curative documentation as needed
  • Record deposits into QuickBooks (checks and ACH)
  • Create check requests for purchases, deeds, consulting fees and monthly accounting and rent payments.
  • Send wires to sellers for mineral purchases
  • Pay Property taxes
  • Record Purchase Card expenses into QuickBooks
  • Create new vendor forms and new GL account forms
  • Calculate monthly borrowing base
  • Review and return Division Orders and/or Transfer Orders
  • Maintain and handle ownership changes through acquisitions and divestitures in a timely manner
  • Build and maintain Division Order files
  • Manage information with accuracy and critical attention to detail
  • Generate and distribute Revenue and Joint Interest Billing Decks, Division Orders, Transfer Orders, and track receipt of executed documents
  • Analyze, calculate, and maintain record title ownership and division of interest in producing properties
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and reports in the data management system (MineralSoft)
  • Interface with mineral owners, title attorneys, staff and outside landmen regarding property interests and inquiries
  • Perform other functions and projects pertaining to Division Orders as needed
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with division orders and/or oil and gas accounting required
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
