Motor Shop Technician I

Detailed Description:

• Troubleshoot and diagnose the problem of equipment brought to the maintenance shop.
• Assemble and disassemble directional motors, and other oilfield drilling components.
• Perform all tests and repair in strict compliance with the manufacturer’s service manual and bulletins.
• Quality control of parts to determine whether they need to be repaired or replaced.
• List parts to be replaced referring to the manufacturer’s manuals and diagrams.
• Look up all necessary repair parts and order them as needed.
• Document inspections, test results, repair work done, and parts replaced for proper billing and record upkeep.
• Ensure the yard and shop spaces are clean and organized.
• Ensure that all equipment is clean and in good working order.
• Safely operate forklift to move equipment around the yard.
• Participate in all required meetings, training, and development activities.
• Ability to communicate, including ability to read, write, and speak English and to promptly follow verbal and written directions in English.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times.
• Willing to be on call after hours, work extended schedules, including extra days, occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
