Brief Description:
The Machinist will be working on a manual lathe that will be cutting a variety of mud motor parts.
All machinist need to make sure that after cutting each part all measurement are accurate and that all parts are usable. QA/QC all parts before taken out of lathe.
 

Detailed Description:
  • Repair all equipment brought to the machine shop
  • Assist in QA/QC procedures during production
  • Assess worn parts to determine whether they need to be repaired or replaced
  • Document inspections, test results, repair work done
  • Ensure the shop space is clean and organized
  • Ensure that all equipment is clean and in good working order
  • Safely operate forklift to move equipment around the yard
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
  • Used various measuring equipment
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane
  • Clear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third party
  • Stay alert and focused up including occasional extended work periods
  • Must be willing and able to be on call after hours and work on weekends
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years’ of experience on running a manual lathe
  • Must live within a 1 hour driving distance to the shop

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Additional Details:
The Machinist must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. The typical work environment will be in the shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
