Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, the Finance and SAP Analyst will be primarily responsible for supporting the financial accounting and reporting processes and ensuring all Corporate financial obligations are met timely and accurately for each month-end close cycle, including all pre- and post-close activity for the Alaska Upstream business as well as monthly, half-year, and year-end reporting. The Finance and SAP Analyst will also support and facilitate the SAP requisition-to-pay process for non-technical functions.Prepare and post journal entries in SAP and complete all other necessary month-end deliverables associated with the upstream business, including amortization, capital cost recovery, and other adjusting or reclassification entries. Create purchase requisitions and service entry sheets (SES) in SAP; facilitate payment of non-PO invoices for nontechnical functions; provide guidance to non-technical functions on the SAP Purchase-to Pay (P2P) process. Maintain SAP Fixed Asset Register, including preparation of asset reports, review of settlements and depreciation, review of Assets Under Construction to place in service, reporting quarterly qualifying assets for capitalized interest, and completing International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 16 lease reviews.Generate and run monthly SAP control checks necessary for month-end close (e.g., allocation checks, cutback checks, settlement checks in SAP), complete Balance Sheet reconciliations for payroll, fixed assets, provisions and other accounts in Upstream businessAssist in the coordination of month-end activities including preparation of the month-end checklist and action log, and scheduling review meetings, perform ICE control testing for the Upstream month-end process controls.

Formal Qualifications:
Bachelor of Business/Accounting/Finance degree.
CA/CPA qualification desired though not required.

Skills/Technical Competencies:
Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), fixed asset accounting, and business combinations.
Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
IFRS 16 reporting and asset retirement obligation accounting desired though not required
Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and deliver accurate and relevant reporting, combined with strong analytical skills to interpret and present financial information to non-financial users.
Proactive with the ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
Comfortable working in a fast moving, frequently changing environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Commitment to process improvement and familiarity with ERP systemsExcellent oral / written communication & presentation skills.
Culturally sensitive with an ability to communicate with multi-disciplinary teams and in diverse cultural settings.

Experience:
3+ years post-graduate accounting experience, preferably including roles with Oil & Gas.Experience in SAP, Power BI.
