Job Summary

This intermediate level position provides technical guidance related to environmental issues, investigations and projects in order to ensure compliance with environmental policy, regulations and practices, in addition to supporting operational HSER performance in the field.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Investigates routine spills, releases, emissions, or other environmental incidents; completes or verifies incident reports; and liaises with other environmental staff and environmental agencies to identify causes of these incidents and prevent recurrence
• Manages environmental projects, including establishing paths to resolve issues with assistance from senior-level Company's employees
• Supports efforts with state and federal regulatory agencies as well as trade organizations to provide media-specific technical expertise in matters pertaining to environmental policy, regulations and practices
• Works closely with more experienced HSE Representatives to design, develop, implement and oversee the organization's environmental, health and safety programs
• Inspects or evaluates workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards and government regulations
• Collects samples of dust, gases, vapors, or other potentially toxic materials for analysis
• Performs other duties as assigned
Job Specific Skills

• Intermediate knowledge of environmental discipline and thorough understanding of the operation and structures of other disciplines, particularly oil and gas industry operations
• Technical competency in specific environmental media
• Intermediate knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and standards (CWA,RCRA, CERCLA, OSHA, ESA, NEPA, NIOSH standards, API, ANSI,NFPA standards, et.)
• Intermediate knowledge of environmental discipline and thorough understanding of the operation and structures of other disciplines, particularly oil and gas industry operations
• Ability to provide technical guidance on environmental programs to all levels of management
Education

• Minimum: High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Environmental Science, Health, Safety, Engineering, Law or related field
• Preferred: Master’s degree - from accredited university - Environmental Science, Health, Safety, Engineering, Law or related field
• Preferred: Other - QEP or position specific certification or license
Experience

• Minimum: 2 - 5 years related work experience
• Additional Qualifications
• Ability to possess a valid driver's license
