Overview:
The successful candidate will be charged with providing environmental support to assist the company in complying with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The candidate will work closely with management, operations, and other HES professionals to clearly define environmental compliance issues and develop cost-effective solutions for the Permian asset in New Mexico and Texas. The Environmental professional must be able to effectively interact with agency representatives to resolve compliance issues. The successful candidate will be located in the Houston, TX office.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for air permit, federal and state compliance reporting including OOOOa/b, NMED Ozone Precursor.
• Responsible for understanding various air regulations and corporate programs; and implementing internal compliance procedures.
• Responsible for monitoring compliance of air permits and preparing routine reports.
• Responsible for emergency response including spill reporting and remediation and internal incident management.
• Responsible for project management, including the development of requests for bid proposals, work orders and supervision of contractors.
• Supports in implementation of compliance requirements for state and federal regulations.
• Sets an example of living our values by participating in safety meetings, behavior-based safety programs, diversity awareness opportunities and other activities.
• Travel throughout southeastern New Mexico and West Texas.
• Must be solution oriented.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelors' degree required in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science (Engineering preferred)
• 5+ years of relevant upstream oil & gas experience
• Environmental compliance, program implementation, risk identification, and project management skills
• Excellent oral and written communications, teamwork, planning & organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, and various Environmental databases
• 25-30% travel to field.
• Preferred Requirements: New Mexico or Texas environmental compliance experience
• Experience with environmental engineering software to calculate of air emissions (i.e. TanksESP, HYSIS, Symetry, ProMax, E&P Tanks 2.0v)
