Brief Description:
The Tool Delivery Driver is primarily responsible for delivering tools to rig locations when needed. The Driver will pick up tools in the Midland shop and transport and deliver them between shop locations and customer rig sites. Major responsibilities include transporting tools (primarily MWD toolboxes and smaller tools ) that will fit in the bed of a pickup truck. When not driving, the candidate will help in the Midland shop and will assist with inventory and preparation for shipping tools, along with other assignments as required. The candidate must demonstrate safe work habits, be able to follow directions, work well as part of a team as well have and maintain a clean Class C Driver’s License and maintain a good/safe driving record. This position demands driving on freeways, on paved roads and less time in and around rig locations.

Detailed Description:
- Comply with all Company and customer Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies, rules, practices and guidelines
- Ensure equipment is transported safely
- Perform pre-trip inspections and post-trip inspections, such as: proper fluid level checks and service as needed; proper brake and tire inspections as needed; proper working condition of lights; complete documentation and reporting of any defective equipment; inspecting, reporting and maintaining proper documentation of equipment; daily signing off on post trip report, etc.
- Ensure accurate and current driver’s log reporting - accurate documentation of mileage and fuel reporting
- Give and receive hand signals to allow for safe and efficient movement around the drilling location as well as loading and unloading of equipment and materials
- Drive Pickup Truck from the shop/office to the rig locations as assigned
- Communicate with appropriate personnel while driving from location to location
- Accurately document items delivered to rig locations, shops and offices and maintain Bills of Lading and other required paperwork for the loads and turn in to shop upon return
- Communicate with Shop, Field and Office personnel for proper delivery and pickup of equipment
- Help to load truck with toolboxes; may be required to use cables or ropes to secure load and ensure equipment is properly secured when hauling
- Pick up and deliver equipment from approved vendors, field locations and offices
- Assist/oversee loading and unloading of equipment
- Clean and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Maintain orderly and accurate electronic driving logs
Job Requirements:
- Ability to effectively and professionally present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors and employees of the organization
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Demonstrate the ability to work well with others, and work independently when required
- Demonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English, and to promptly follow verbal and written directions in English along with the ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with all employees at different levels both in the office and in the field
- Willing and able to operate and maintain assigned equipment in a safe manner while working in all weather conditions during a possible 12+ hour work shift that can include days or nights, as well as weekends and holidays
- Must be able to lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or less
- Ability to travel as needed to other offices and drilling rig work sites, occasionally requiring extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area
- Self-starter and team player able to work in the multidiscipline team
- Will be required to obtain SafeLand and H2S certifications for traveling to customers rig sites.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Have and maintain a valid Class C driver’s license, be eligible to drive a Company vehicle and meet the requirements of the Company’s vehicle program, policy and/or guidelines.
- Must live in close proximity and local to Midland Shop
- Be able to lift 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must have at least 2 years driving history with valid driver’s license
- 1+ years previous delivery experience or related experience
- Experience in the oil and gas industry
- Current SafeLand and H2S Certifications preferred but not required (will provide certification training if needed)
