MAIN FUNCTIONS
• Champion Safety
• Formulate construction strategies and plans to support successful construction planning and execution
• Represent Construction in concept screening/selection, contracting strategy/evaluation, and other early project planning efforts
• Provide core competency/expert Construction consultation and support to functional and project teams
• Provide technical leadership for vulnerability and risk assessments
• Develop tools to improve efficiency in managing construction planning and execution
• Provide organizational and staffing assistance
• Serve as member of the Project Team (PT) when project assigned
• Provide oversight for Operated by Others (OBO) projects as requested
• Provide assistance to contractor supervision activities and safety management practices

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as a Construction technical consultant to various Construction and Project task teams
• Champion on-site safety awareness and safe performance with contractor and among Project Team members
• Identify gaps/vulnerabilities/risks in construction plans, tools, contractor performance, etc. and recommend solutions/mitigations
• Develop construction plans, provide strategies, and give guidance on resolution of construction management issues
• Provide expert input to concept screening/selection, contracting strategy and other early project planning deliverables (Early Project Plan (EPP), Production Planning (PP), Early Project Development Basis (EPDB), Project Design Basis (PDB), Logistics, Infrastructure and Early Works (LIEW) plans, mob/demob plan, cost, materials, equipment, schedule, etc.)
• Champion/share best practices and Construction Management System (CoMS)/tools with project planning and execution teams. Ensure balanced and consistent application of CoMS/tools across projects
• Conduct/assist reviews of construction costs, schedules, and execution plans
• Assist with identification, evaluation and selection of construction execution personnel for emerging projects
• Prepare and deliver training and act as mentor to early experience Construction Engineers
• Provide expertise in the pre-qualification of contractors, evaluation of contractors, and maintenance of strategic relationships
• Lead Construction Readiness Reviews and/or Independent Project Reviews
• Perform other duties as requested

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in field Construction planning, execution, and completions
• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or Technical degree
• Willing to travel (domestic/overseas) to project sites
• Past Project Construction Advisor experience on major capital project
• Fluent English (speaking/writing)
• Able to work in a multicultural environment

Key Job tasks:

Walking down NM sites and feeding data to engineers based out of Midland (supporting environmental compliance
Confirm operation assumptions, help provide clarity where drawings may not be immediately available
Seek out potential barriers and assist with getting around these barriers
Help facilities engineering team determine priority (e.g., sites may have long-lead schedule potential)
They would also help feed lessons learned to the Facilities engineer team to ensure better future designs.
Collaborate closely with Jason Parrish to get a feel for projects, so they can “graduate” to assist with the front-end scoping and planning, and then as projects mature, support field execution.

Requirements:
Work will be based out of Carlsbad; must be based there or willing to travel there
Strong field presence, including dedication to safety (including intervening as needed)
Able to evaluate field condition along collect and convey technical and operational details necessary for engineering analysis
Communication, collaboration, and technical acumen (i.e., able to understand process) will be critical focus areas to enable success

Preferred skills/background:
10+ years of oil and gas facilities experience
(e.g., operations, maintenance, project planning, construction)
Able to work with engineers, operations, and construction to ensure practical designs
Understanding of tank batteries, flares, combustors, VRU’s, dehydrators
